Brawl on the Beach (Mother's Day at Revere Beach, MA)

Oh, memories. Remember when we had Mother's Day on the beach & got into a fist flying good ole brawl? Me too, two year old baby. Me too.

Injuries and becoming a police officer

It's going to depend on the severity. If you feel like it's bad enough to question now, it may very well be. It doesn't hurt to look into it if you're serious. They have camps where you run certain police training for fun. Not involving guns, riots, & hostage situations, of course, but enough to...

    So Sad...

I'm going to play the devil's advocate on this one: If the child died swallowing something that's not illegal (marbles, Advil, or anything) would people feel the same way about the situation? Likely not. It's easy to cast them in the light of 'reckless drug dealers'. Do I feel these parents are...

    Ahhh texas!

You can never go wrong with a story where a Grandma has a gun. As long as no harm comes to the elderly person in the story it's always a feel good one. Still it realyl shouldn't set a precedent. How often do the elderly get beaten & attacked where the story doesn't work out in quite the positive...

    What Do You Think?

If we're talking about general bullying than I suppose teaching ways around it can be a valid place to start. If we're talking about teens/kids bullying? No. Sorry. I wish I could say it would work but they're going to tune any of that out & do what children do: Tease each other. I think deeming...

Follow Up: Best. Mom. Ever. (Toya Graham)

Not a rumour. Seems like the Baltimore City Department of Social Services Child Protective Services felt it would not be in the best interest of the other children to ignore the 'violence' in the video.

Mom asks police to arrest her 10-year-old to scare him straight

You may not agree with what she did but you have to give her credit for doing something. I watch mother's deal with their disrespectful terrible children in ways that blow my mind. Allowing them to do things that will only worsen with time. I applaud her for doing something. That's more than a...

Follow Up: Best. Mom. Ever. (Toya Graham)

Had to post twice because there were TWO videos Now the expected stupidity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhe-9MyeA3U So, come to find that a mother doing her job never goes unpunished.

Follow Up: Best. Mom. Ever. (Toya Graham)

If you're unaware of what I'm referring to click here. We'll wait... Here's an interview with Anderson Cooper involving both the mother AND her son: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbDcDaNJ7eo

    Police and citizens

There's an issue of two worlds here: Police officers who understand who they're working for & the one's who do not. It seems to be that simple. There's a mentality with some police officers that they're above a lot & everyone else is beneath them. Sometimes this way of thinking comes with...

How do you handle online bullying?

I prefer dealing with people in person. If ever my son or daughter had a situation where this occurred & they alerted me to said situation I would make a point to deal with it face to face before any other steps are taken. I wouldn't think to contact the police in a situation like this because...

    Neighbor From Hell

You know what they say: If you never had a bad neighbour you should look in the mirror. I've had not great neighbours but it never got to an extreme area as the ones I've read on here before. Just minor annoyances or situational issues. There was nothing baked goods & a conversation couldn't...

    Degree or LEO first?

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Two birds, one stone.

What do you do if you find something illegal online?

Do I report illegal things I find online? No. However, I've never been in a position where I've discovered child pornography & hopefully never will be. If I were to stumble into that specifically? Absolutely. Otherwise, I leave the wild west wild.

Driver and passenger shot dead after fatally striking toddler

This is what happens when rage overwhelms common sense. I assume the shooter was related to the child that died. That's the only piece of this puzzle that's missing. A prime example of when you see red & it blinds you.

Robotic camera's and drones... does your department use them?

I can see it becoming a thing but much much later down the line. They're having a hard enough time as it is implementing body cameras which shouldn't be all that difficult honestly. I can only imagine how many crashed/knocked out of the sky drones will be all over the city coming out of my tax...

Should police be able to request grants from the government?

I guess my question is: Than what are the unions for? It's a really difficult thing to fight for what you need in a department/district. Just because you are requesting a grant doesn't mean it's going to come to you. Especially if you & every precinct under the son is in need of similar things...

Man injured in fight punches nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital

If I were the nurse? It would be really difficult not to shoot him up with something & maybe hit him in the face once as he's passing out. Not the nicest thing a nurse can do but I'd have a tough time getting hit in the face at any place I'm employed ever.

Do You Legally Have to Roll Down a Window More than 2 Inches?

If you intend on having no contact or words with the officer I believe you're supposed to hand them your lawyer's card through the opening & roll the window back up. They are supposed to contact the lawyer & break down why you were pulled over & if the accusations make sense to your attorney he...

Hello from a correctional officers wife!

I bet your husband has fistfuls of stories! A lot of my guy's family are police officers/firefighters. He's the black sheep. I'm always all up in their business. :D
