    Have you ever mentored someone?

I've been the reluctant mentor of quite a few children in my life. I think it's because I have a lot of single mothers I know & they tend to not want to be the 'bad guy' so they use me as a way of keeping their children in line. But the truth is children gravitate to those people that keep them...

How can I escape the punishment after I had been pulled over?

Forgot to mention this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=rWfWI9mQAb0

    No-Go Zones?

Well, I don't think these places are advertised. They do exist. There have been quite a few places I've been to where you don't want a crime to happen because there won't be cops until the TV reporters show up.

    Cold Cases

Oh, my God. YES! There are some that just drive me insane. The West Memphis Three was heartbreaking. It still haunts me even though so many things have happened since. If anyone has a chance I would suggest you want A Death in St. Augustine. That really made me insanely angry surrounding the...

    Cops

I think there was already a question like this where the legitimacy of 'Cops' was discussed. Here it is.

    Do you understand?

lol It sounds like I would love to see a video of you being pulled over! I've always been polite & considerate to the cop even when they're ticketing me & I disagree with what the ticket is for. I know there's no way out of it unless they decide not to give it to me even if I was doing nothing...

    Drug Addicts vs The Law

This question is a as old as the DEA. It makes no sense to fill prisons with people who have an addiction. To counter that idea I also feel it makes no sense to fill prisons with non-violent drug dealers either. Our drug laws are as wrong as sin & everyone knows it. Getting something done about...

Is it a good idea to become a police officer nowadays?

It's always been a difficult career choice. Were there time periods where the police were more respected & idolized? Sure. But it's always been a dangerous job that's been through a lot of different public opinions. It seems to be like a pendulum. If a catastrophe were to occur & police officers...

Compared to the days of Dukes of Hazard...

Are you saying car CRASHES or do you mean cache of cars? I think it's tough to answer this one because of the typos. Also, maybe the 'annually' part made it a tad confusing as well.

    Star?

Just me or does everyone want to watch Bonanza now?

    asthma disqualify me

I agree with the general consensus. There's only around a fistful of things that permanently disqualify you from being a police officer. A lot of things assumed to disqualify are treatable therefore manageable & could end up not interfering with work.

    Really? Really?

I don't think the aunt could have saw this coming. No sane person could have saw this coming. In her defense (which I hate to do but must) she likely felt the mother changed her ways & wanted to form a relationship with her baby.

    Foxy Knoxy cleared

I never for a second thought she was guilty. I don't care if she looked fugugly or people thought she was 'foxy'. Really irrelevant to the facts & the shoddy police work that went into this case. A shame & the whole system ended up with an easy out with that other arrest where they could've...

Police Departments Hiring Immigrants As Police Officers

Yes, as was mentioned why are they not becoming citizens? Wouldn't it put them on the rush list that they're serving a country not originally their own? I don't have an issue with this & I can see it as eventually being helpful but it has to be done the right way.

Detroit woman arrested after children found in freezer

How long would these children have stayed in that refrigerator if this woman paid her bills & was not evicted? That's the scariest part of this story. Mental illness is the only thing I can even imagine being the reason behind this.

Just a heads up, Sandra/Nikole: There's a Meet & Greet section where introductions are normally posted. This is general discussion.

How can I keep the peace? Why would I need to move?

Are you willing to invest the money into getting an attorney willing to make their lives a living hell so that you don't have to? Videotaping things is great move. I hope you have audio as well. However, the sad truth is even with all the evidence if you don't have someone to represent you it...

    Getting fed up?

I imagine probation/parole officers feel this a lot more often than street cops. I say this because they tend to see the same people doing the same things over & over. At least a street cop has different perpetrators of the same crimes. Giving them a tad more diversity.
