We've all seen the videos showing situations an officer can regret but when is shooting someone justified? What does it take in a video to prove the officer is not at fault? It seems really easy to prove them at fault. I want to know the counter to that argument.

I've had an officer ask me & I've told them the truth: Yes. Yes, I do. It's not an issue for me because I'm not a criminal so I have nothing to be concerned about. However, it could be worse.

It makes sense. I mean, can you imagine what would have happened (or more accurately NOT happened) without this video? That's the saddest part about this situation: the record behind this officer & the lack of punishment that he had to deal with on the force.

It's the risk of working such a dangerous job, sadly. Even a police officer that if off duty lives with a higher potential of dying by the gun. I feel all the sympathy in the world for his friends & family.

It's pretty rare that an officer who just got off shift will be called into an emergency situation unless the area we're referring to is understaffed. That's a dangerous move generally speaking, to have an officer over worked. It really affects their ability to police correctly.

I think what's more damning than the man running & being shot in the back (because even that has been explained away before) is the fact that the officer appears to have dropped the taster next to the victim after confirming the man was dead. That's damning evidence.

I think we've discussed this question a few times before. There's no police statement saying the officers have a 'quota' on tickets because that would be a tad unfair to the citizens being policed. But there are quotas at certain departments that are enforced with rewards or punishments.

Well, fear is a healthy thing to feel in certain situations so I hope so. Otherwise I'd be concerned with the mental state of the officer. I would think you have to be weary of every situation as an officer. Even people with the best attitude could be acting a certain way because something is wrong.

I'm quite curious why they wouldn't release the text messages. That makes no sense. You want to claim a department is an open & honest one but are not willing to release texts you are claiming are homophobic & racist? Something is missing here. Maybe the texts incriminate the entire department.

I like that they didn't pull any punches with the name. It's always a good idea to define a 'badass' with only the best of behaviours. Too many people use it to define the exact opposite types of behaviour.

That's my go to when dealing with police. Speaking to them like normal people & trying to cheer them up. Normally it works really well for me. I just don't think I was on my A game with that situation. We were put in the back of the police car. lol He was having a bad day.
