    Have Wondered If . . .

I have heard of the suicide-by-cop method as a theory, but I’ve never really known if it’s common in practice. I wouldn’t like to think so, as interesting as it may be from an academic standpoint. As previously stated, there are certainly plausible reasons to choose such a method but wow...

    Officer IQ

I was not aware of this at all, urban legend or fact. It's an interesting subject. But as previously stated, IQ isn’t the only factor that determines overall intelligence, so it’s probably disingenuous to say people with a higher IQ are too smart for… well, anything. Perhaps a high IQ...

Missouri Police Officers Resign After First Black Mayor Elected

I was acquainted with someone who left Missouri last year, and I’m pretty sure mindsets like this were part of the reason. It’s indeed hard to believe people still think like this, but sadly it’s true, and stories like this just prove it. I do agree though, people with these tendencies...

What objects are carried by you everytime?

I try to keep it minimal since my lifestyle doesn’t currently require me to carry all that much. Usually it’s just my phone, wallet, a tiny notebook and pen, Altoids mini mints, keys, a compact mirror, lip balm, and whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day. I do have a separate bag for my...

What is the weirdest fact you know?

Wells Fargo operates the only ATM in Antarctica. Colorado’s 420 mile marker has been replaced with a 419.99 sign because people stole the 420 marker so often. John McAfee does not use his own antivirus program on his computers, as it’s “too annoying.â€

    5 positive posts a day

Hmm, I’m of two minds on this as well. Sharing positivity is great; feeling forced to share positivity might end up being detrimental in the end. As others have said, life is full of both good and bad. And one person’s good news might be another person’s bad news. By all means, we should...

Do you take anything for stress or anxiety?

I used to wonder sometimes if I could use medication, but it’s not practical for me, so I’ve had to find other outlets. Exercise, yoga/meditation and herbal teas have alleviated a lot of my stress and anxiety, so much so that I no longer feel like I need medication. Self-care practices as...

What would you do if you had a million dollars?

Sounds pretty much like what I’d do. Definitely find a way to make that money work for me, because a million isn’t that much these days and a lot of it would go toward taxes. If I do have any fun money left, I’d use it to travel. I have some online friends I’d love to meet in person. We...

Do you ever lie about the town you come from?

I don’t lie about my hometown, but I used to lie or avoid talking about where I went to high school. Where I come from, people judge you by your high school. Which I always found quite silly, but I went to one that’s considered one of the bottom five in the entire state, so it wasn’t...

    Shootings In Small College Town

I think I live near a similar sort of town, usually pretty quiet but these sorts of isolated incidents will happen and everyone will get shaken up about it. It does seem to be on the increase. I myself am wary of being alone at night, so I avoid it as much as possible. That said, some incidents...

why do most people like dogs more than cats?

Cat lady over here! Like others, I appreciate their independence and mostly easy care. Even after having worked at an animal sanctuary for the past six months and having to deal with some pretty disgusting messes, I’d rather do that than walk dogs, to be honest. I don’t dislike dogs, I...

    Mama's girl/boy or Papa's girl/boy

Only child reporting in, and I’m a mama’s girl for sure. We’ve always just understood each other for the most part. My father, on the other hand, has always been somewhat distant, unemotional, self-centered, and insensitive. He could have been worse, but eh, I just sometimes find it hard...

    What's your favorite music genre?

It’s hard for me to choose one genre. Most of my favorite artists tend to be random British indie bands (big yes to Britpop!) and so many of them sound different from one another. I also love hip-hop, electro, krautrock, and a fair amount of cheesy pop. Got a soft spot for old-school punk as well.

What can I do to be safe while running or walking outside?

Oh, I love the idea of those blast knuckles but I think they’re illegal here. Ah well, so it goes. Truth be told, I don’t take very many precautions, aside from only walking/jogging during daylight hours, and not listening to music. I should probably be more careful since I live in a...
