Fellow officer breaks the law to help someone, what do you do?

I agree that if it was for the general welfare of an individual or even group of people, the lines blur a little bit.

Where's the line from child discipline to child abuse?

Looking into the intent is a very good way to look at it. There's a difference between being punishing out of anger and punishing out of teaching. I think it's really subjective to culture and even individuals, I was just wondering what the official law was, if there is one.

Have you ever been in a chase?

I agree. Even if you get away at the time, they'll still have your information and have a lookout for you. You'd only be digging yourself in deeper.

    Accident scams

I know someone who was involved in a scam about an accident. A car followed him home, then called the police. The police showed up and knocked on their door, saying that the man claimed they rear ended him. My friend had NO clue what was going on, because this car was behind him the entire...

How Old Does a Child Need to Be to Stay Home Alone?

A minor is under 18 right? I think the older teenage years are way too old to need a babysitter, don't you?

How often do people fight tickets?

I think a lot of people will talk a big game about fighting a ticket, but then find it's easier to just pay and shut up about it.

    Portrayal on TV

I think it's a good insight to get interested in the subject, but I don't know how accurate it is. I'd like to hear from more police on this subject though.

    Quitting the police department?

I always wonder what the limit is for anyone in that line. Not just police officers, but detectives, forensics, etc. I assume it comes down to "the straw that broke the camel's back" - maybe not one incident that does it all in, but an accumulation of them all until one, however small, just...

Have you ever been in a chase?

That kinda sucks. Why not just own up to what you did wrong?

    Corrupt Officers

I think the only way to look at this is as we look at anything else. There will always be bad, whether you're a person of the law, an athlete, a banker, or a secretary. There are always bad eggs in any area.

Can You Arrest a Kid Who Commits a Crime?

I think in the case of the slenderman girls and similar cases (heaven forbid there are others) they should have taken into account that they had everything meticulously planned. There's a difference between not understanding what's going on because you're too young to understand consequences or...

    Phone Scams

Some phone services/cell phones allow you to block the number directly without jumping through any hoops through your provider. My iPhone has a "block caller" feature that just takes a press of the button.

Where's the line from child discipline to child abuse?

With all this talk in the NFL, it's hard to draw a distinct line between what counts as discipline and abuse? I think we can all agree that what Adrian Peterson did was abuse, but there's no firm definition as far as I know? Is it leaving a lasting mark? Is it an age thing? Where's the line...

    Lack of recources?

Could it also be because many scams are from different countries? Perhaps it's difficult to get jurisdiction in another country, to obtain the IP addresses etc, let alone impose discipline.

How Old Does a Child Need to Be to Stay Home Alone?

I think it's all subjective on the kid. I know some 15 year olds who shouldn't have been left alone when they were, and I knew some 7 year olds who were fine being left alone. It's all subjective on the kid's responsibility and of course knowledge on how to take care of a problem (ie call 911...

What should I do if i get arrested but I'm not the one who commited the crime?

Yeah, I would agree and say staying calm is your best bet. Of course it's an anxious situation but the more you rattle off your mouth the more they don't listen, you know? If someone is of few, but stern, words people generally listen.

Have you ever been in a chase?

There's a news article in my city today about a guy who was running from a speeding ticket (65 in a 45 - but it also came out that he was driving on a suspended license), but he ended up crashing into a pole then into someone's house. Do these chases *ever* end well for the one running? I've...

How do you handle student protests?

I can imagine it's a tense situation from both sides, but especially on the law enforcement's side. They're there to "rain on the parade" and some people might not take lightly to that, making them the target.

    Weirdest Arrest?

I'd love to hear more stories, I can't help but imagine police officers have a good chuckle at a lot of people.

    Media bias?

I think media is to blame for shoving it in our faces so often and so repetitively that it gives us a false sense of anxiety. It either makes us feel helpless, or that we should become powerful. I also think the state of political correctness is getting out of hand and pushing us to where...
