Uncle Arrested After Date Rape Drug Found In Toddler

A Georgia man was arrested after his 2-year-old niece was found with GHB “date-rape drug†in her system. Terrence Darling, 26, from Lilburn, is facing child cruelty and reckless conduct charges.
The little girl was reportedly taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital earlier this month with severe burns to her legs and bruises on her back, stomach and face.
Police responded to a call from the hospital. When Darling was questioned, he told authorities that he called 911 after found the girl lethargic and unresponsive.
“He didn’t know what was wrong with her,†said Lilburn police Lt. Chris Dusik. “She was going in and out of consciousness and he set her up on the stovetop and she got burned.â€
According to police, Darling set his niece up on the stovetop to get her water. He said the girl must of turned on the stove, because when he returned he found her severely burned.
Darling was charged with reckless conduct. Gwinnett County Jail records shows that he was released later that day on $2,950 bond.
However three weeks later, after toxicology results showed GHB in the girl's system, he was arrested again on an additional count of reckless conduct and cruelty to children.
“He advised he didn’t know how that came into her system,†Dusik said. He added that the little girl is expected to be just fine.
Darling was arrested for a second time. This time he was charged with cruelty to children and reckless conduct. He was released on $14,150 bond.

Just the fact that he had the date rape drug in his possession does not reflect well on him. What a terrible monster he is to put his two year old niece through this traumatizing situation. Who puts a child on the stove whether it is lit or off? He has a case to answer; hopefully this little girl will not remember this ordeal.

I am happy the authorities caught up with this sick individual. It really upsets me when depraved people like this are allowed back in society. l am not sorry about how I feel. This man is a sociopath.

Where are the parents of the child? They must have not entrusted the girl in the hands of this guy. I usually pity parents who's children were taken by the government because they cannot support their family. This is one of the cases where I believe the government better take the child. There's really something not normal about the man's thinking. Let's just hope this will not traumatize the girl and may she outgrew these experiences.

Once he realized that something was wrong with her then he should have took her straight to the hospital. Instead he sit her on a stove. I do not think she turned the stove on, he just said that the little girl was in and out of consciousness so how could she turn the stove on. Also the fact that the "date rape drug" was found in her system does not look good on his end. I guess he will say that the little girl found it.
