State Trooper Ryan Matthew Albin, 37, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Trooper Albin of rural Bellflower, Illinois, was killed in a car crash on Interstate 74. He was airlifted from the scene to Carle Foundation Hospital where he later died.
Albin’s K-9 partner, Biko, was in the back of the patrol car at the time of the crash. Authorities said he was taken to a local veterinarian’s office and seems to have suffered only minor injuries.
Trooper Ryan Matthew Albin was a 11-year veteran of Illinois State Police District.
Trooper Ryan Matthew Albin is survived by his two children.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
