Texas New One Sticker Policy

What do y'all think of the new vehicle one sticker policy? I just got my car inspected, and they didn't put a new sticker on the vehicle, I guess because my registration is still active. Does that mean I'll be more likely to be pulled over, or is there a way officers verify the inspection is up to date electronically?

I wasn't really aware of it so I read up a tad & it seems like they're just trying to simplify the collection of information. If it does occur that you're pulled over for it you shouldn't be ticketed so long as it remains valid. Here's a fistful of information I found.
