What do is your opinion on the use of taser/pepper spray?

It is helpful when we are put in a dangerous situation. It allows Police to resolve the situation without using their firearm.

I prefer the taser over the pepper spray. I feel it is more effective and it has quicker recovery time.

I like them both for different reasons. Pepper spray if good for the control of and direction of someone who is unruly. If someone is in a cell and won't comply, pepper spray is very effective. A stun gun is more for the person who is resisting, it usually makes them more cooperative but not always. I have had perps who still fought back hard even when being hit with a taser. In contrast there is no fighting pepper spray, but it does cut both ways, you will end up with it effecting you also.
