There are some agencies that have gone to a no smoking policy. Also other Police Departments won't allow you to smoke in the vehicle or in a public place. So you might as well quit smoking. Plus I heard its not good for you.
In our department, when hired we had to sign a form that would refrain from all tobacco products. Break the agreement, it could be grounds for termination (most likely).
