Sgt. Luis A. Meléndez-Maldonado was fatally shot, while two other officers were wounded in a shootout Wednesday, October 12, 2016.

Sergeant Meléndez-Maldonado, 51, was with the Puerto Rico Police Department for 30 years, and was assigned to the Humacao Drug Division
