Sergeant Steve Owen was killed Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2016.
The Los Angeles County sheriff’s sergeant was shot while answering a burglary call. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested.
Owen, 53, had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
