Polygraph

When I was 16 years old I did smoke marijuana. And only one time did I try mushrooms. Lets say I get to the polygraph part and they ask me about using illegal drugs. How much do they ask about drug use, can I get away with just saying I smoked pot and exclude shroom part? It was like two months of my life I went thru this, can this knock me out of a police job?

When they ask you a question you need to answer truthfully. If they find out you are lying, you will be DQ. Most likely it could hurt your chances, because there will be other people applying that will have clean record.
