Police Officer Who Injured Indian Grandfather Arrested

Another unfortunate case of racial profiling. Police responding to a call that there was an individual walking near the caller's home, used excessive force whilst arresting the old man who couldn't speak English.

The caller early Friday morning reports an individual walking on the street near his home.

"He was doing it yesterday and today...He's just on foot. He's just kind of walking around close to the garage."

"He's a skinny black guy, he's got a toboggan on, he's really skinny."
Police dashed over to deal with the suspect who they thought was black. And it ended badly. Had it not been for the audio recording of their cruisers dashboard camera, the cop would have got away with assaulting the old man.

Oh my gosh. Why am I not even surprised though?

What sis the audio recording from the dashboard show that ended up getting the officer arrested? He must have said some real racist stuff.

Do you have any links to the story or the audio recording? I'd love to know more.

Because some counties morality and judgement department on hiring some of these cops is slim to none. They can hold a gun and fire straight and it's enough. I don't think these type of cops were real winners to begin with. Sounds like Reno 911.

Poor old guy. =/

I can't believe the mentality of the guy who initially called the police! So there was a man walking past who he hadn't seen before? Wow, is nobody new ever allowed to move to Madison or something?

Well at least the other cops didn't try to cover it up. A crime is a crime, no one should be above it. To prevent crimes is an officer's duty in the first place.

Yup, good that the other cops did not take any of this crap! And poor guy, the pic of him on his hospital bed... Man. I mean, if the caller had tried to talk to the guy instead of calling the police (oh no, he looked black, he must be too dangerous to talk to!) then they would have figured he does not speak English. Though to be fair, the policeman really should have figured out the language barrier.

Well at least this cop got arrested for assaulting old man. Racial profiling is like a drug. So many people who racially profile do not feel any remorse. I really hope that family of his can sue this department in court and win a large sum of money.

I think its safe to say, nothing surprises me about what goes on anymore. It's almost like you have to expect the worst but hope for the best. I don't expect the overall situation will get any better.
