A Missouri woman is facing charges after her 10-week-old baby son suffocated to death on May 4, while she was drinking and smoking marijuana.
Jordan Glenn, 24, was indicted by a grand jury last week. She is facing child abuse and child endangerment charges.
Glenn allegedly placed her son on a bed in an unsafe sleeping position on his stomach and didn’t check on him for more than 16 hours while she drank alcohol, smoked marijuana, and had taken the pain killer Percocet.
Officials stated in an autopsy the victim had suffocated.
Glenn was arrested October 22. She has been released on $50,000 bail.
Glenn, who has two other children have been were removed from the home and placed in protective custody.

Why do these people who are not prepared to look after their children keep having more? She obviously has issues, but as an adult she should begin to recognize her limits sometime, even if she is taking drugs.

You cannot leave a small child alone for that long sober. If you are high or drunk for that long then it is pretty much asking for your child to die.

She is twenty four with three kids? The other two kids are so lucky to have survived. She is taking too many drugs to be of sound mind. It is so unfortunate that this little baby had to die because she could not stay away from drugs. May this little boy rest in peace while his mother obtains the help she needs to stay away from drugs. She has damaged her life and that of her two children who have to be separated from their mother.

Another absolutely preventable tragedy. Many will blame it on the drugs and the liquor. I blame poor parenting skills. Since when do you leave a 2 1/2 month old baby alone to fend for himself? To feel shame you must first have pride. Don't expect Ms. Glenn to show any either.

She should become a poster for Birth Control! She could hardly care for herself. She should never have had any children. Yet, we no longer sterilize misfits in this country. She had the freedom to make her own choices. Perhaps her mom had similar circumstances. If that were the case then she would have thought her circumstances were normal. That means she would have selfishly thought of her own needs, and never cared about her children.
