good idea to give them a warning?

I've have seen DUI checkpoints on facebook pages popping up. Does this actually stop people from driving drunk? Do they still go out and then find a different route to go home. Do you think it's a good idea to give them a warning?
 
My dept has been doing this way before facebook, and we still stop them and give out tickets. There are plenty of fools that don't get the message.
