A 23-year-old Fresno State student was allegedly caught sexually assaulting a sheep early Tuesday morning at a campus barn.
The unnamed suspect, only described as a fifth-year computer engineering student was caught after another student reported hearing noises from the university's agricultural department barn around 3:30 in the morning on Tuesday, Nov 11.
According to the police report, the student claimed he had been wrestling with cattle. But when police pointed out there wasn't a cow in sight, he referenced the sheep and stated, “it was all the same.â€
The student told police he was drinking and blamed his behavior on being stressed over final exams.
According to the police report, after making his confession to police he asked, “Am I going to be expelled for this?â€

When other students heard about the incident, they say shock doesn’t even begin to describe what happened.
Student Marisa Burkdoll works with the horses on campus, and oversees every aspect of their care and survival. She said she read about the sheep incident through social media.
“It’s just kind of disgusting and revolting and personally makes me angry, I mean why would you do that,†said Burkdoll.
“It’s just kind of sick it’s unnatural and the animals they can’t really, Burkdoll added. "I mean they can’t defend themselves, they can to an extent but they’re innocent you know what I mean?â€
The student was arrested on charges of sexual assault on an animal and has since been released from jail.
The sheep that was assaulted is currently being monitored by a veterinarian.
