Just want to ask if anybody ever had to use excessive force, if yes how did that make you feel?

Yes, it is part of the job. At some point in time at the very least you are going to run into someone who is intoxicated and belligerent. No matter how much you try to reason with them they are going to fight you. I guess the first time it happend I felt angry, like why doesn't this person show me respect. Now, I know it is not me personally they are fighting so I don't even give it a second thought.

Yes, I have had to use excessive force on several occasions. I feel different depending on the situation I have to use it for. I worked in the DOC for a while, there it was common place to use excessive force to let nearby inmates know that it would not make much sense to fight back. As a officer you are always faced with the possibility that someone is going to threaten you are become violent, no matter how big or small they may be so you are prepared for it. I agree with the Serg you get used to it.
