Do You Believe In The Concept Of Sin?

I believe in good and evil therefore sin comes out naturally. Humans are prone to sin basically because we're weak in flesh. Since time immemorial, mankind has always been associated with sin leading to his downfall in a various instances.

But do you believe in absolute good and absolute evil? There always seems to be more than that; especially as we grew in science and psychology and now can see how trauma and hormones can drive us without that we can stop it, even though our morality tell us not to. Nuances everywhere.

Do I believe in the concept of sin? No. I am not Christian (or any religion for that matter) and I've always thought of sin as a Biblical concept. I believe in right and wrong though. I can distinguish between moral and unethical and I certainly know the difference between good and bad. I appreciate that these ideas can be directly related to the concept of sin though. Furthermore, the traits descibed in the Bible as being sins are certainly things that, on the whole, I would call "wrong".

Yes, sin is part of the human. I am a Christian. I believe in what the Bible says about sin. I wonder how the dictionary defines sin. I will have to look it up. I'll post back with it later. I wonder now that I stated that I am a Christian what stereotypes individuals may have about me on the forum.

Sin exists whether we deny it or not. Babies are born pure, sinless and good. If there was no sin, then people would still retain their goodness and we wouldn't have wars, crime, misery. But because sin exists, the moment anyone embraces it, the obvious result is your [actions] will negatively impact someone else.

Yes. Everyone of us is a sinner. No one among us is excused from sin. We have all made mistakes in the past, whether it's intentional or not, whether it's heinous or just a minor one. Definitely, we are all sinners. One who will say he/she is a clean one is a hypocrite.

So in my pervious post I wondered about the dictionary's definition of sin. This is what I found on Webster Dictionary website: offense against religious or moral law, act that is highly reprehensible, serious shortcoming, and estrangement from God. Someone mentioned about taking care of the more serious sins. From my understanding, sin is sin. There is no small or big sin, which I think is difficult to comprehend.

Human beings have sinned since the beginning of time. Sin is present because we refuse to do what's right and humane. Karma is one of the proofs that sin is real. It makes us suffer for the sins that we do to others and it comes when we least expect. Another thing is that sin is the base of all current laws in society.
