A Wisconsin man has been charged with physical abuse of a child, after he allegedly used a shock collar on his 7-year-old daughter.
Police arrested Zachary Kacmar, 28, Wednesday after his wife called authorities to report the incident that happened on August 30.
She told police he put the collar around their daughter's neck and shocked her. She said she was on a different level of the house at the time, but her daughter told her what the father did. The mother took a picture of a mark on her daughter's neck. She didn't call police right away because she didn't want her husband to get in trouble. However after talking to her pastor, she changed her mind and called to authorities.
The little girl child told authorities that her dad put their dog's shock collar around her neck and said "let's see if this fits." She said that her father then pressed a button on the remote control, shocking her in the neck. She told police she took off the collar and ran upstairs to tell her mother.
Kacmar told investigators that his daughter wanted to know what it felt like when the dog got shocked. He said that he placed the collar around her neck and pressed the button. He told authorities that he was surprised that it shocked her.
Kacmar admitted to police that it wasn't a good idea and he really didn't think of the consequences of his actions.
He faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
