I wanted to know if I bought a retired P71 crown vic, with the lights on it would it be legal to drive. I'm not a police officer, however I would like to if I could get charged for impersonation for driving this car.

Depends on the state you are living in. In my state if the vehicle doesn't have any markings on it to indicate it might be a police car than it is legal.
