An on-duty Florida bus driver was arrested for allegedly soliciting an undercover police officer working a prostitution crack down.
Rodrigue Macharie, 43, a Sarasota County Area Transit driver, negotiated a sex act with what he had hoped was a prostitute, but just happen to be an undercover policewoman, authorities said.
"The bus driver pulled down to a dead end street and parked the bus," Sarasota Police Sgt. Demetri Konstantopoulos said. "After waiting a couple of moments, seeing that the undercover officer wasn't going to come over to his vehicle, he got out of the vehicle, out of the bus, and walked to the undercover officer."
Macharie allegedly paid the woman to perform a sexual act, and was immediately arrested and charged for soliciting a prostitute. “The arrestee engaged the undercover officer, a deal was made in exchange for $20 dollars U.S. currency,†said Konstantopoulos. “He did not want to have the intercourse inside the bus,†Konstantopoulos added.

The officer did report there were no passengers on board the bus at the time of the incident.
The county says Macharie has been a SCAT bus driver for five years and has a very clean record.
Macharie has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.
“We have a zero tolerance policy for instances such as this,†County spokesperson Jamie Carson said.
Macharie has been charged with procuring a prostitute and lewdness. He was released on a $120 cash bond.
