    police slang

'You meet the description of a criminal we're looking for in this area' ...I'll let you figure that translation out on your own

    Humor

Well, sure I can agree with that: If you're not funny. It's a dangerous thing to assume you're funny & trying it out in that scenario is probably not the best of circumstances.

    Relationships?

Maybe this question should be amended with 'serious' before the relationship part of it. Only because it's rare I see a single officer or a cop bar that isn't frequently overrun with women. I've noticed that female officers have a harder time establishing relationships but that's for a number of...

Are People More Callous These Days?

No one wants to get involved with these things but they have no problem getting famous because of these things. That's the world we live in today. how many hits can this video of a crime get on YouTube as opposed to who can I contact about this crime I witnessed.

    Severity vs certainty

The death penalty. However, we live in a world where everything is disputable so I doubt anyone anywhere would stand for killing a citizen because they ran a stop sign. There's too many ways to get out of that.

Will firing squads make a comeback?

Regardless of how these people are being killed by the state, they're being killed by the state. If I had a choice as to how they were going to kill me of course I would choose lethal injection but if you had a choice you would choose not to die at all. We all assume that lethal injection is not...

    Mom Breaks Baby's Ribs

Wait, are you assuming that her intent was to break the ribs or she told the police her intention was to break the ribs? That seems like it's counterproductive to what she was trying to accomplish through shaking the baby.

How can I escape the punishment after I had been pulled over?

I feel like I've answered a very similar question to this one before... Anywho, I always try to make them laugh. If they're in a bad mood it's almost a guarantee I'm going to get ticketed but if you can improve their day a tad they might be lenient in dropping one on you for something forgivable.

    Large Game Life?

People rarely report it. Either because they assumed someone else did or they don't feel it's their job. It's actual the job of anyone who sees it to report it. You should call the animal control in your area & they'll contact someone who can pick the deer up.

On the side of the road?

I always used to pass an officer who did crosswords puzzles every single morning. I always thought there's no way he could possibly be aware of things around him when he's so intensely doing his crossword. But then I realized his presence is what detours people from speeding & driving...

    Movies and Television?

I think it would be really naive to go into a job using the media's example of how that job is. I can see it being that way when you're a child perhaps but as an adult you become aware pretty quickly that things aren't always as they seem.

    Shootings In Small College Town

Is moving an option? I don't think you can ever be over prepared. If you feel comfortable arming yourself than by all means you should. However, you should be trained thoroughly before you carry a weapon. You could carry other things but as it's been said you should never bring a knife to a gun...
