Two men are in custody in Pennsylvania in connection with the fatal shooting of a Brooklyn toddler over the weekend.
The U.S. Marshals Service confirms 23-year-old Daquan Breland and 19-year-old Daquan Wright, both of Brooklyn were picked up at 6:30 a.m. Friday at the Sherman Hills housing complex in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Antiq Hennis was shot and killed Sunday night as his dad, 22-year-old Anthony Hennis, pushed him in a stroller in Brownsville.
Authorities are calling the men “persons of interest†in the fatal shooting of 16-month-old Antiq Hennis.
Police believe the boy’s father was the intended target. The alleged gunman is a gang rival of the father, a source said.
“I am happy and relieved that they got these guys, if they got the right guys, it’s sad that the kids can’t play in the streets,†Brownsville resident Victor Santiago said.
Police have also charged the two suspects as fugitives of justice because there were warrants out for their arrest.
An extradition hearing for Breland and Wright is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
