Four people have been arrested for allegedly clubbing and killing 920 chickens with a golf club after breaking into a Foster Farms facility in Northern California.
Fresno County sheriff's officials received numerous tips Wednesday that led to Gabriel Quintero, 18, of Riverdale. They also arrested two juvenile males, ages 15 and 17, from Caruthers, and a third juvenile, age 17, from Lemoore.
Detectives said the chickens were killed with a golf club and another blunt instrument on Sept. 20 after the suspects allegedly entered a chicken shed by tearing back part of the fence.
All four suspects were charged with burglary and felony cruelty to animals. Quintero was sent to the Fresno County Jail, and the three juveniles are in the Juvenile Justice Center.
Foster Farms issued a statement thanking law enforcement for the swift investigation.
"Foster Farms actively worked with law enforcement to facilitate the arrest of the individuals charged with this unconscionable act of animal cruelty,†said Ira Brill, the company's director of communications.

Talk about animal cruelty, killing almost 1000 chickens with a golf club? What are teens these days thinking?

Not that the chicken farm treats them MUCH better, but it is extremely cruel. What sort of sick people would go around beating nearly 1000 creatures to death? What's the purpose??
