Streets Renamed In Honor Of Fallen NY Police Officers

Two streets are being renamed in honor of New York detectives Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, two police officers killed in the line of duty in December.

Mayor de Blasio signed a bill naming streets after the two police officers on Thursday.

W. Sixth St. between Avenues S and T in Brooklyn will be changed to Detective Wenjian Liu Way.

Ridgewood Ave. between Shepherd Ave. and Highway Place will be changed to Detective Rafael Ramos Way.

Our fallen heroes will never be forgotten. Their memory lives on in their families, and in the NYPD family. And now it will live on in the streets of the communities
these brave men lived in and protected. This is an expression of our pride in each of these men, and our sadness at their loss, said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
