The man who started a shooting rampage at the Wheeling Federal Building has died, police said.
The incident began about 2:30 p.m. today. Witnesses told police that a man took out a rifle and fired around 20 shots.
Police reportedly locked down the building until they caught the suspect. He was then taken to a local hospital where he died.
Carla Webb Daniels said she witnessed the shooting from the across the street.
"I was so nervous, I couldn't believe it," Daniels said. "People were scared and were banging on the doors asking to be let in."
Police have not identified the man or yet released a motive for the shooting.
