Police force to any special force in the US

How does one go from being a police officer to an FBI agent, or working for the CIA? Is it through military channels or police channels? Also, would family members be able to know?

You can become one.All FBI agents must have a college degree, typically in a specific field.Get the highest grade point average that you can. If you want to become an FBI Special Agent, you should seriously consider getting an advanced degree. Best of luck!

Both FBI and CIA come to you not the other way around, just be the "best of the best" and the rest will fall into place.
