Athens police found $3,600 worth of methamphetamine in a suspect’s truck during an investigation at the Mark Motel in Athens, Alabama, authorities said.
Leslie Allen Downer, 33, from Athens was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
"Investigators Jim Kennedy and Mickey Hart went to the motel to check into a report of a possible meth lab", Police Chief Floyd Johnson said.
Police say they discovered Downer, at the motel with a baggie containing 36.5grams of meth.
They continued their search and reported finding two more bags with small amounts of meth.
The suspect was booked into Limestone County Jail, in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police did not release any information on how they were tipped off.

Anyone who sells drugs to kids should be removed from the general public as soon as possible. This man was prepared to sell these drugs; they are easier to sell in the smaller amount he had packaged them. Good work on the side of the police for apprehending this criminal.
