The 2016 Police Memorial Day Ceremony was held Thursday, May 5, inside NYPD Headquarters to honor 19 members of the Department whose deaths were recognized as line of duty. Mayor Bill de Blasio, Police Commissioner William J. Bratton, members of the NYPD, as well as family and friends honored the 19 fallen officers in a ceremony in the NYPD Hall of Heroes. During the ceremony, the 19 names were unveiled.
