Getting into the law enforcement field

Hi everybody. I live in New Jersey and I will be graduating highschool this month. I can't go to college right now, but I will working full time. I really would like to be a police officer when I get older. Hopefully that can happen in five or six years. I have a clean record, no points on my drivers license. In the meantime what can I do to have a really good shot of getting into the law enforcement field?

Keep working and stay out of trouble. Look around and check if there are any cadet programs in the area you live in.
