Thursday afternoon Long Island police arrested a Florida man after exposing himself to a 13-year-old girl.
Jason Good, 35, of Vero Beach, Fla., will be arraigned Sept. 13 at First District Court in Hempstead on charges of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.
The incident happened Sept. 3 while the teen was out riding her bicycle on Hicksville Road in North Massapequa. Police said a man in a black Jeep with Florida plates drove up and approached the girl and exposed himself.
Police said they were able to track down the suspect thanks to the quick-thinking victim, who took out her cell phone and snapped a picture of his license plate as he sped off.
“The biggest single factor that helps us solve crimes is the cooperation from the public and when a 13-year old girl has the presence of mind to take a picture of a defendant or a license plate or anything that can help us solve a crime, that is exactly what we want the public to do,†said Inspector Kenneth Lack with Nassau County police.
He is due to appear in court on Friday.
