Don't Bring a Bat To A Gun Fight.

I love stories of good triumphing over evil. With so many negative stories about guns in the news constantly, it's good to read about a situation in which a concealed carrier was able to protect himself, and stop an attacker, before others were harmed. It sounds as if the attacker has mental health issues, as is so often the case in assaults like this. Great to here, maybe it brings us to the fact that after all guns are a neccesary evil sometimes. It was a sheer coincidence though.:D
Thank god,nothing serious happened.

It actually happens more than most people are aware of, but you have to search around for the stories, especially if you're in an area that doesn't support gun ownership and/or gun carry laws. I'm in Texas, so I see quite a few of the stories, and share them around the internet. I have no problem with law abiding citizens carrying guns, because I know criminals have them.

Yeah, good thing no one has been fatally injured in this incident. Well, that should serve as a lesson to everybody now. Before you strike someone with a bat, make sure he/she doesn't have a gun with him/her.

I commend the victim for keeping it together and not retaliating! When you're attacked out of the blue like that it's human instinct to answer in kind, that's the knee jerk reaction! I'm just happy that nobody was hurt in the whole commotion. Clearly the attacker needs help of some sort.

Yes, I agree. He showed remarkable restraint, particularly since his children were nearby, and could have potentially been hurt. I hope the attacker gets the help he needs. So many people with mental health issues are running around on the streets, without the support, treatment, and services they need, and it often presents a danger to society.

U mean to say the spontaneous reaction to any incident involving a gush of blood.??
Had he injured or killed someone then i am sure he would have had to endure the hardships of a jail term. This attacker really needs a psychological training.

That is what i call using a deadly weapon responsibly. Even though the carrier was struck with a bat and had kids to protect, he didn't use deadly force even though the circumstances needed it. There is a lesson to be learnt here by officers in uniform.

I read the title of this...pictured Joker saying it... & just thought:

There seem to be so many crazy people running around with bats or other instruments that can be used as weapons. The worst part of this is that they don't even know why they are doing this or what g they are doing, half the time! Society should take better care and keep those that are troubled on a shorter leash! Fixing problems takes all groups working together.

Yeah, not sure why so many people are crying about Guns. No one ever cried about medieval weaponry at the time. Getting killed by a sword is worse that a quick death by a gun. Good for this person though, perhaps people will get a kick in the butt and stop crying over the use of guns so much.
