Do departments know you've applied to other out of state departments

If it wasn't listed on the "other departments you've applied to" section? Let's say for example I apply to a job in a city of Texas. I complete the written, physical ability and my background information packet and get removed after the packet. Then lets say I apply for a job in different city. Do departments know you've applied to other out of state departments?
