Are cops entitled to give back to society in the sense that can they be involved in tasks not related to security issues like cleaning up the local church?

Now why would cops do that jeremy? I feel that they can do it if they want, but don't you think they are giving enough to society already?

Why not? When they are not on the job they can volunteer for any project they are interested in. I don't think it's a matter of having given back enough already. Sometimes those kind of things, like working at your church, are so much fun because you get to spend time with people you know and get to know new people.
