A Baptist church leader in Missouri has been arrested after allegedly attempting to solicit sex with a dog.
Jerald Hill, 56, of Camden County was arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of attempted unlawful sex with an animal and attempted animal abuse.
According to Boone County sheriff’s Detective Tracy Perkins the investigation began when authorities received a tip that somebody was looking to have sex with a dog or other type of animal on Craigslist.
An undercover officer went online and set up a time and place with the suspect for the purpose of having sex with a dog. Subsequently, Hill was taken into custody when he arrived and was expecting a sexual tryst.
Hill was president and CEO of Missouri’s Windermere Baptist Conference Center, a national gathering spot for Baptist leaders. He was let go of his position after the news of his arrest.
“The board is very supportive of him and grateful for his work at Windermere. “We are concerned for the well being of Jerry, and we are also concerned with the well being of Windermere," said Arthur Mallory, Chairman of the Baptist Conference Center.
Hill was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
