Last week I went to a house party with a friend. My friend drove to the party. He got drunk and refused to drive me home. I had some drinks also, but I had to get home. I took his car and drove home by myself. As I was driving home I hit a tree and it made a dent in the side of the car. I told my friend I would pay the deductible so the car could be fixed because he doesn't want his rates to go up. I don't want to report it to my insurance company because I have had several accidents. Now he is telling me the cost is going to be $2,000. I thinking he is also liable because he got drunk knowing he had to get me to my house. Do you think it is fair that I am the only one that should pay?

Why would your friend be liable? He wasn't driving, he wasn't even in the vehicle. It's on you, you were the one driving.
